Week 19
Create, Curate, and Collaborate
During one of my weekly Clubhouse sessions with Kristin Harad, she presented the idea that a content strategy should consist of three components: Create, curate, and collaborate. I loved the simplicity of this framework, so I thought I’d share my interpretation of the concept when it comes to niche marketing.
When developing a content strategy for a niche, your mix should look like this:
Create: Develop your own content to establish your unique voice and demonstrate your expertise to your niche market. Examples of original content include blogs, white papers, videos, podcasts, and infographics.
Curate: Share original content created by others that would be of interest and value to your niche. An example of this is Michael Kitces’ "Weekend Reading for Financial Planners."
Collaborate: Partner up in creating content with other experts (e.g., centers of influence, other industry providers) who reach your same niche audience. Examples would be making a guest appearance on a podcast that your niche tunes in to or hosting a joint webinar with a COI.
